LASIK Surgery
LASIK (laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis) is a refractive surgery to correct Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness) and Astigmatism (irregular shape of the cornea). This is an outpatient, or same day procedure, that for most patients provides a permanent alternative to wearing contact lenses or glasses to correct vision. The surgeon creates a thin flap on the eye with a laser. The flap is then folded back, and the doctor will resurface the cornea to reshape and remodel it with a second laser. The surgery itself typically only takes a few minutes per eye and causes minimal discomfort. The patient's vision is often improved by the following day; although, post-operative follow-up appointments are necessary to ensure proper healing and avoid any complications.

At Crane Eye Care we utilize the most advanced technology in laser vision correction - the IntraLase Method for corneal flap creation, along with the WaveLight EX500 Excimer Laser and WaveLight FS200 femtosecond laser for a 100% blade-free approach to LASIK.
